September Obsession: Boots Boots Boots!

River Island, Primark and ASOS Ankle Boots

Hey everyone,

This past month my obsession has been ankle boots!

Whenever it gets to this time of the year I start to live in ankle boots, I'll not wearing much else on my feet until spring. The fact that they go with almost any autumn outfit is why I love them  so much.

I thought I'd share my favourite pairs of ankle boots with you.

This first pair are from River Island and are my least practical for actually keeping my feet warm, although I think I'll rock them with some patterned socks when it gets too cold to wear them with bare feet.

Cut-out boots have been a huge shoe trend this summer, and I think they will continue to be popular for a long time yet.

I really like that the buckles are silver on these boots, as most boots I've ever owned have gold details. I also love the textured leather these boots are made from.

These second pair of ankle are from ASOS and are my oldest pair, as you can probably tell from the scuff marks on the toes!

I've worn these boots to death, especially through last winter. They're really practical since they are made from real leather, keeping my toes warm and dry even in the snow!

With these boots, I love that they are totally flat, so I can walk around all day in them. The gold buckles and stud detail are also a reason they're on the top of my favourites list.

And finally, this third pair are from Primark and are the latest edition to my ankle boot collection.

You can probably see a theme emerging, with the straps and buckles. I like a bit of biker-style to my boots.

There are a bit chunkier than my other pairs, and have one strap rather than two.

I love the chunky heel on these boots.

Hey everyone,

Checks are obviously a key print to include in a PUNK inspired look. Something about the infamous red tartan checks makes me think of leather, studs, piercings and Mohawk hairstyles.

Throwing a checked shirt over a printed vest is a casual take on the trend. You still get the essence of PUNK, but with a much more casual vibe.

I like a slightly more feminine take on this trend, since it is quite a masculine look. To do this I added some wedge leopard print ankle boots.

The checks and leopard print look great together for a pattern clash.

Check back on Saturday to see how to get the look.

Hey everyone,

Here is my first take on the PUNK trend.

A checked dress is a must have for this season, It's a really easy piece to style. Just throw on some tights and ankle boots for a cool daytime look.

A checked dress can also be dressed up for a night out. Add a pair of killer heels and a chunky necklace for a sexier take on the trend.

The dress I have chosen for this outfit is buttoned up the front, giving it a 90's grunge look, another big trend this season.

These chunky boots complete the outfit, and will be perfect for those chilly autumn days.

Check back tomorrow to see my second outfit inspired by PUNK.

Trend: Punk

Punk Trend, Autumn, Tartan, Plaid, Checks

Hey everyone,

This Autumn/Winter, Punk is going to be the biggest trend of the season. If you haven't noticed lots of tartan, leather and studs in stores now, where have you been?!

Whether you want to rock the trend head to toe, or just add a tartan scarf to your wardrobe, make sure you rock Punk this season!

Back in June, me and my Mam went to New York on holiday. We had such a great time, and one of my highlights was seeing the 'PUNK: Chaos to Couture' exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

As you can tell from this blog, I love fashion, and it is a huge part of my life. Having the opportunity to see some really famous pieces of fashion history was amazing for me. The highlight of the exhibition for me was the Alexander McQueen dress which he sent down the runway to be painted by spray guns. I didn't even know it was in the exhibition so I was so excited that it was!

Another highlight was the Versace safety pin dress which Liz Hurley famously wore (shown in the fifth photograph)

As you were not allowed to take any photographs in the exhibition, I found some great images (below) on The Met website which show the best bits of the exhibition.

Hey everyone,

This is my second outfit inspired by the 'China Girl' trend.

A printed dress is the easiest way to work a trend into your wardrobe. This dress has the gorgeous Toile de Jouy print, in the classic blue and white colour palette.

This dress is very flattering, as it cinches in at the waist and stops just at the place above my knee.

I paired some vintage looking necklaces to make the look a little more quirky, and some nude heels so that they didn't distract from the dress.

Check back on Saturday for my 'China Girl' picks from the High Street.

Hey everyone,

This is my first outfit this week, inspired by China Girl.

I got this blazer in the summer sale, from Zara. I love a statement blazer (hello neon blazer!). They can make any simple outfit looked amazing with minimal effort.

For this look, I've stuck to the blue and white theme, with a classic white tee, some blue skinny jeans, and these amazing cobalt blue shoes from ASOS.

Cobalt blue is a big colour for autumn/winter so watch out for that!

Check back tomorrow for outfit number two.

My Holiday Style #2

Hey everyone,

Here are some more snaps from my holiday. These are from the end of the week.

We decided to go on an overnight trip to Ephesus, and in our hotel that night there was a Turkish wedding, which was really fun to watch.

The next day we went to Pamukkale, where we swam in the Cleopatra Pool. It is warm and full of minerals, I could of stayed in all day!

This outfit was from that night. I decided to dress up a little more since the wedding was going on.

These two theatres are actually different. The first, above, is at Ephesus. The second, below, is at Pamukkale. The second is still in use today as it still has great acoustics!

We also walked on the 'Cotton Castle', which is a section of the hills that has been turned white. This is because of the warm springs running down the hillside and depositing minerals, which gives it the white colour.

And finally, this photo was taken on our last day. Our balcony overlooked the pool!

Where have you been on holiday this year? What was your best bits, and what did you wear?

Check back on Saturday for my picks of Holiday clothes, if your jetting off on a last minute holiday in the sun.

My Holiday Style #1

Hey Guys,

A slightly different post today. As you've probably read in my other outfit posts, I've just got back from a week in Turkey. Fethiye to be exact.

I'd never been to Turkey before, but I'd heard lots of good things, so decided it would a great place to go!

I got my boyfriend to take a few outfit photos for me while we were there. These two outfits were fairly casual night time outfits. We went out for dinner but I didn't want to dress up too much, I thought I'd stay more casual.

I really enjoyed staying in apartments rather than a hotel, it was fairly quiet and most days I had the pool to myself until lunchtime!

Walking around the markets was really nice, all the beautifully painted lamps looked amazing!

We went on a couple of boat trips, one where we swam in the sea, which was so nice! The other we went to a mud bath, and then to a beach called 'Turtle Beach' - I think you can guess from the title that Turtles lay their eggs there at certain times of the year. The beach was beautiful, and we managed to see a Turtle while we were on the boat, it was amazing!

Most nights we got the little bus into Fethiye for dinner, the view was gorgeous across the Harbour, especially when the sun was setting.

Second part of my holiday snaps to come tomorrow!
