Cetaphil Moisturising Body Mousse | The Non-Tacky Moisturiser

I have a stash of body butters and lotions, but I rarely use them. The truth is I absolutely hate the tacky feeling lotions, and especially body butters, leave on my skin. Not being able to get dressed straight away because my clothes are sticking to me is so off-puttin that I just don't bother with it. Until Now.

Summer Styling with Ocean

Even thought the weather isn't really agreeing right now, it is actually summer in the UK. So when Ocean got in touch to see if i'd like to take part in their summer styling project, I couldn't wait to pick out an outfit.

These amazing shoes are what caught my eye first, so I popped them in my cart and chose the rest of the outfit around them. Shoes like this are perfect for the summer months as they're a bit smarter than a sandal but you're toes are still out. The heel is a god height, too. Great for both day and nights out.

Learning to Drive | I Finally Passed My Test

So I finally passed my driving test last month, about four years after I actually started to learn to drive. I wasn't going to write a post about it, but when Amara from BookLearnPass got in touch to ask if I'd like to share my experience of learning to drive and (eventually) passing my test, I thought I'd go for it.

Before I talk about my experience, let me tell you about BookLearnPass. If you're thinking about learning to drive, this website is great. You can search for driving instructors in your area ( London, Essex, Kent, Surrey, Hampshire, Manchester, Yorkshire, Sussex, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire), book driving lessons, book your theory test and also have access to information on passing your theory test and learning to drive. The mock theory tests are great, as I found that practising lots meant I found the test easy.

Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette | My New Favourite

First up, I want to say a huge thank you to Georgie from Bean's Beauty Blog for this palette as I won it in her giveaway! I couldn't believe it when I received a tweet to say I'd won the giveaway, and I'm in absolute love with this palette.

Too Faced's Sweet Peach Palette was a limited edition and is sadly sold out everywhere. I did have a little search online and found lots on ebay, if you still want to get your hands on one.

The packaging is so cute, a peachy tin with embossed peaches on it, and when you open it up the yummy peachy scent hits you straight away. How many more times can I say peach? A lot! The colours are gorgeous in this palette, ranging from pale highlighting shades, through to deep berry shades, with plenty of beautiful peach shades thrown in there, too. The warmer tones in this palette are perfect for blue eyes, but will look great anyone.

Wearing Sportswear? | Ivy Park

Sportswear has never been something I've spent my pennies on, except when I went through a stint of going to the gym and bought a few pairs of running leggings etc. Must get back into that! I surprised myself when I started lusting after a few pieces from BeyoncĂ©'s Ivy Park range. I popped into Topshop to have a peek at the range and fell for these jogging bottoms

The fit is great, even though I have to fold up the cuffs as I'm so short. I like that they're high-waisted, it's a very flattering cut on me, rather than joggers that sit on your hips. They're super soft too. The only negative I'd say is that the waist band is quite stiff, so they can be a little bit uncomfortable to put on and take off.

My All-Time Favourite Instagram Posts

I love Instagram. I'd go as far as saying I'm obsessed with it. I'm always checking the app and I have a schedule for uploading my images. It's great that you can capture moments and they're all there, in one place, forever. Today I thought I'd take a scroll back through to my first Instagram posts and pick out my absolute favourite pictures, there's a lot! I'm @lauralookatmyclothes if you fancy following me on there :)

Another New Brow Product | Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil

Who needs yet another brow product? Well that would be me, apparently. Technically though, this one was free. It came as a gift with a magazine, and although I wouldn't have bought the mag if it didn't have the Benefit freebie, in my mind it was free. Right.

If you don't know all about Benefit's huge brow release, where have you been? They've been all over the internet. YouTube, blogs, and even Snapchat. You just couldn't get away from all of the unboxings and reviews. Well done Benefit, you really peaked my interest. I couldn't wait to get my hands on the Goof Proof Brow Pencil

I luckily received shade 2 as my freebie, which seems to be a great colour for my brows. The pencil is a triangle shape, similar to the Smashbox Brow Tech To Go that I used to love. I find this shape makes it super easy to fill in my brows as I can use the point for precision, but I can also use the whole tip to fill in my brows quickly, too. I'm too impatient to use one of the brow pencils with the extremely fine tips.

The Jumpsuit I Never Thought I'd Wear

I've been eyeing up this jumpsuit for a fair while now, but didn't take the plunge and buy it as I didn't think it would suit me. High necklines normally make me feel frumpy, even if I don't look it. Also, as I'm petite, the culotte length would be a bit odd on me.

While popping into New Look last week to pick up an online order, I spotted this jumpsuit hanging up in the sale, reduced to £14. I had to try it on! I really didn't think it would look very good on me, but I was very pleasantly surprised. I actually love the neckline, and although I wish the trousers were an inch or so shorter, I think they look fine. The colours are beautiful, too. Dark sage, mint green, baby pink and a pop of yellow, which are all muted so they look perfect together.

Chicken, Chorizo & Broccoli Bake | Fuss Free Recipes

I'm not much of a cook, never have been. But at almost 30 years old I guess it's time I got some basic recipes under my belt, and share the successful ones with you. This time, a super simple pasta bake. You can add whatever you fancy to a pasta bake, but this time around I've added chicken, chorizo and broccoli. It was delicious.

You will need:
  • Approx 200g of pasta
  • 1/2 an onion
  • 1 x clove of garlic
  • 1 x tinned tomatoes
  • chorizo
  • 2 x chicken breasts
  • cheese
Before you start any cooking, prepare everything. Finely chop the garlic and onion, chop the broccoli - I like to leave it quite chunky - chop up the chorizo and chicken, grate the cheese.

My Everyday Summer Face

I don't actually wear make-up 'everyday', but when I do, I like to keep it pretty basic. At the moment I'm enjoying the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer in Radiance. I just have a sample of this, but I'll be buying the full size as soon as I love the glowy look it gives my skin, without looking oily.

My foundation of choice is the L'oreal Infallible Stay Fresh Foundation. I use the shade 125 Natural Rose. It has enough coverage for my skin when it is playing up and on the blotchy side, but doesn't look cakey. It lasts a full working day on me, but I have to blot/apply powder as my skin does get rather oily.

The concealer I'm using right now is the L'oreal True Match Super Blendable Concealer. The colour isn't my favourite, it's a little on the yellow side and slightly too dark for me, but until I replace my MAC Mineralize Concealer this will have to do!I set all of that in place with my MAC Mineralize Natural Skinfinish in Medium. I love the finish of this powder, it doesn't look cakey, and gives an extra bit of coverage, too.

The rest of the face products I use are all contained in the Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look in a Palette. I take the bronzer on the high points of my face where the sun would naturally hit with a fluffy brush, then with a smaller contour brush to define my cheeks, temples and forehead. I'm enjoying the peachier blush over the pinkier one at the moment, and the highlighter is just beautiful.

Sea-foam Slip Dress

Sea-foam green is one of my favourite colours, my bedroom wall vouches for that. While I was browsing the aisles of ASDA a couple of weeks ago I spotted this gorgeous slip dress and just had to try it on. It's double layered, so isn't sheer, and the length is great, too. As it comes just below my knee, it looks great with heeled sandals, but I wouldn't necessarily wear it with flats as I find it can make my legs look a bit stumpy. Not good for a petite. gal.

The sea-foam shade looks great with pale denim, whether that be a denim jacket like mine, or a lightweight denim shirt would look perfect, too. I wore this dress for the Hawthorns Terrace Party with my white chunky sandals and this denim jacket, it was perfect for the evening.

5 Places to Visit in Northumberland this Summer

As the kids' holidays are creeping up on us, and the weather (should be) getting better, it's time to think about planning some fun days out. Here are five places to visit in Northumberland that are family-friendly, but also great days out with your bestie, too.

1. The Alnwick Gardens

First up, a place I've talked about a couple of times (here and here), The Alnwick Gardens. On a sunny day you could easily believe you were on holiday somewhere in the Med. The gardens are beautiful to wander around, with the exceptional fountain right at the centre of it all. A tour around the Poison Gardens is an absolute must. It is just so interesting. Take a picnic to eat on the lawn or grab something from the cafe, fish & chip shop or the Tree House restaurant on site.

Growing My Hair Out | No Heat July

It's taken me three years to grow my hair out. It was super short, and now it's just at my shoulders. I much prefer how my hair looks now, I think I suit it so much better and I love that I can do a lot with it.

I've always kept my hair above my shoulders, as it tends to flick out when it does hit my shoulders. Surprisingly though, it hasn't been doing that this time. Fingers crossed it stays that way! I've decided I want to grow it out a few more inches, and I also need to get it into better condition as it's not great at the minute.
