For the last 10+ years, I’ve worn a uniform for work, which meant that I didn’t have a ‘work wardrobe’. That is until I started training to be a teacher last September. For me, my clothes now need to be appropriate for school, but also be dressed up for evenings out, or dressed down(ish) for the weekend. I think I’ve managed this quite well…
I also have tattoos on my arm which need to be covered for work, which adds another problem into the mix. When I spotted this shirt in Topshop I knew it would be a perfect piece for my wardrobe. Simply styled with tailored trousers and flat loafers for school, it’s a great item that I’ll get lots of wear out of. In fact, I’ve already worn it for a few interviews/meetings.
Styling this shirt for the weekend couldn’t have been easier. Swapping out tailored trousers for ripped jeans, adding a pair of statement earrings, and my favourite easy-to-walk-in heels. I’d even pair this outfit with some fresh white trainers for a more casual look. However, I was off to a fashion event at HaveToLove so I didn’t want to look too casual. You can read about that event here.
I adore how the statement earrings look with this outfit. It just adds something special to what could have been a boring outfit.
Thanks again to Alice from Alice’s Wonder Emporium for taking these snaps for me!
Do you wear your workwear for the weekend?
