It’s that time of year when I’m giving the outfits in my wardrobe an Autumn style refresh. The new season trends filling the high street have me craving a fresh new wardrobe. I don’t know about you, but I need items of clothing that I can wear all year round. A small change in the way an outfit is styled can make a huge difference in how an outfit looks. You may recognise this particular outfit. I featured it last year here where I simply styled it with black ankle boots. That was last Autumn. I’ve also worn it in Springtime, too.
Reviving Your Outfits For Autumn
I’ve given this gree cord pinafore dress an Autumn style refresh by swapping out my trusty black ankle boots for a fresh tan pair. The cork heel and platform on these boots give them a very 70’s feel. Pair that with the cord dress and striped jumper, and it feels even more 70’s. I’ve wanted a pair of boots like this to wear with my more floaty dresses and a cardigan for the cooler months. These are the perfect pair.
An Autumnal Colour Palette
I don’t think I could have chosen a more Autumnal colour palette for this outfit if I tried. The mustard and burnt orange in the jumper contrast with the bottle green cord dress while complimenting the tan ankle boots. A mustard or burgandy rollneck would look great underneath this dress, too.
What is your favourite colour palette for the Autumn months? Do you prefer to go for more neutral tones or, like me, do you excited to mix it up with lots of jewel tones?
