The Dirty Bottles Taproom and Smokehouse is a brand new bar/restaurant in Alnwick. There has been such a buzz around it’s opening that I had to try it out at the first opportunity I got!
The cocktails were what I was most excited to try out. The Dirty Bottles has a huge selection of amazing sounding, and looking cocktails available. It was so hard to choose just one, which is why I ended up with two. Oops. The first has to be the Frozen Bubblegum Daiquiri, and the second the Strawberry and White Chocolate Mojito. Both tasted amazing and I’ll admit, I was a little tipsy afterwards so there was no scrimping on the alcohol content!
Now we’ve got the cocktails out of the way, I had to mention the amazing décor. The whole place has a rustic, cool feel to it yet incorporates some unique technology!
I love the idea of the self-service ipad booth, although I haven’t had a chance to try this out myself. yet. Flicking through the menu, ordering yourself and even re-ordering drinks throughout your meal seems super fun and convenient.
Now for the food. I’m really not a foodie, not at all. But this was delicious! I decided to go for the Smokehouse special, which was two meats and two sides for £10. As you can see, I chose the pulled pork, smoked sausage, coleslaw and onion rings. It all tasted so good, but the coleslaw was out of this world, I’d of eaten a tonne more of it if I’d had the chance. Leanne went for the build your own burger, which also looked amazing.
So my verdict? Definitely worth a visit. Make sure you book a though! I’ve already been back for drinks and I’m planning to head back for food sometime next week, too.
